“It would be brilliant if there was a sevengardens online store where you could buy all the utensils that are used in our workshops and are an enrichment for the sevengardens network.“
When Peter Reichenbach and Jessica Färberkind told me about this idea in spring 2024 and asked me if I wanted to make the whole thing happen, I was initially rather skeptical. Can i manage it? Can I do that? Fortunately, this initial skepticism didn't last long. The idea of trying something new, being creative and becoming part of the sevengardens team convinced me to tackle this project.
sevengardens only sells selected, high-quality products in our store, which are extensively tested in our workshops beforehand. Products that we manufacture ourselves also undergo a multi-stage testing process. We deliberately avoid clearance sales, the sale of remnants and B-goods. It is particularly important to us that we source our products as sustainably and regionally as possible or from our worldwide sevengardens network partners. Our team is also always available for innovative products or European producers. We are proud of what we have been able to achieve so far and still have many ideas for the future...
Peter Reichenbach
Peter Reichenbach is a German artist, cultural philosopher and initiator of the sevengardens project, which specializes in promoting ecological education and artistic work with natural dyes. He has made a name for himself primarily through his work in the field of dye gardens and natural dye production. He combines environmental protection, sustainability and art with educational work to raise awareness of nature and its resources.
Reichenbach relies on a participatory educational model in which people learn how to make colors from plants and other natural materials in workshops and projects. The idea behind this is to both preserve traditional paint-making techniques and promote ecological and sustainable approaches. Under the umbrella of sevengardens, he connects people worldwide who are interested in similar projects and supports the transfer of knowledge between different communities.
Jessica Färberkind
Jessica Färberkind (The Dyers' Child) is a visual artist. In the idyllic sevengardens studio at the Emschermündung farm in Dinslaken, she is constantly working on alchemical combinations of traditional techniques of color production from plants and sustainable future technologies - out of love for our earth and its future. She uses all the products in the sevengardens store herself, both in her artistic work and in her workshops. Her own product line “The Dyers' Child” will soon be available exclusively in our store.
The sevengardens laboratory
There are sevengardens dialogers all over the world. You will find the sevengardens laboratory at Hof Emschermündung in Dinslaken. This is where research, trials and tests are carried out. There are also workshops, exhibitions, seminars, discussions and symposia with cooperation partners, interested parties, universities, etc.
Louie
Louie is our farm child. He is an inventor, baker, racing driver and is happy to help every visitor with any questions. If you are very lucky, you will occasionally hear his wonderful accordion sounds.
