Answers to Frequently Asked Questions:
How long does it take for a sold-out item to be available again?
Natural products, such as our dried plants, can only be grown and harvested at a certain time of year. If our stocks are used up, we may have to wait for the new harvest.
In addition, many of our products are handmade and therefore time-consuming to produce. However, we make a great effort to order and produce our products in good time to avoid bottlenecks. You are welcome to contact us by email if you would like to find out the expected delivery date for an item that is sold out.
Can I buy your products directly at one of your workshops?
It is not (yet) possible to place an order for pickup via our online shop.
However, as a workshop participant, you have the option of entering your order in advance in our order form. You can then hand in the completed form to us at your workshop.
We will prepare your order so that you can take it with you immediately after the workshop. This saves you shipping costs.
Do you offer bulk orders (e.g. for daycare centers, schools, etc.)?
Yes, that is possible.
For larger order quantities, however, we need a certain amount of lead time to order or produce the corresponding products in the desired number/quantity. But we are happy to do that for you.
If you would like to order larger quantities, please contact us by email.
Can I suggest a new product?
We are grateful for your suggestions and requests and are happy to check whether a new product can be added to our range.
Why does order processing take 2–4 business days?
Every order is carefully prepared by us.
Processing usually takes 2–4 business days before your package is shipped. Often it is faster.
Why don't you offer free shipping?
We do not offer “free shipping” as this is usually already included in the product price.
Instead, we focus on transparent pricing and only charge the actual shipping costs incurred. This means that our products are priced fairly – with no hidden surcharges.
Is delivery to other countries possible?
At the moment, we only deliver our products within Germany. One exception is “The Dyers' Child INK KIT (US),” which we also offer to customers in the United States.
This product cannot be ordered outside the US. If you would like delivery to another country, we will be happy to check this for you on a case-by-case basis. Simply send us an email and we will get back to you with the available options and shipping costs.
As soon as we are able to expand shipping to other countries, we will announce this on our website and in our newsletter.
What should I do if there is a problem with my order?
If you are not satisfied with one of our products, please contact us by email.
Describe the defect and send us a photo showing the defect. If your complaint is justified, you can send the item back to us and we will replace it free of charge (see cancellation policy).
How important is sustainability in your products?
We address this question in detail on this page.
What is the difference between plant-based dyes and synthetic dyes?
Plant-based dyes are made from natural materials such as leaves, roots, flowers, or bark. Unlike synthetic dyes, their colors are created through natural processes and may therefore vary slightly.
This natural diversity and connection to nature are exactly what makes plant-based dyes so special. Each dyeing process is unique and depends on many factors, such as the plant used, the material, or the dyeing technique.
If you would like to learn more about how plant-based dyes are made and used, you can also explore this in our plant-based dye workshops.
Which materials are suitable for plant-based dyes?
Plant-based dyes work especially well on natural materials such as cotton, linen, wool, or silk. They can also be used on paper, wood, and other natural surfaces. Depending on the plant and the technique used, the results may vary – which is part of what makes working with plant-based dyes so exciting and unique.
If you would like to learn how to work with plant-based dyes, you can also experience this in our workshops. There we show step by step how natural colors are created from plants and how they can be applied to different materials.
